If you were to say 2020 was upsetting, no one would fight you. But before COVID really set in, there were quite a few positive innovations on Nike’s end — one of those being Grind materials, a mixed, sustainable composition of rubber, foam, fiber, leather, and textiles.
Today, in 2021, Grind has been used across many a silhouette, the Air Force 1 included. But seldom has it ever replaced the tooling entirely like it’s doing here atop these two GS pairs. Scraps of various colors can be found embedded all across, placed within the framework of a greyed base. Above, the tongue and heel tab bear recycled constructions as well, though they’re far more reserved than their lower complement.
Offered in either a black or white colorway, these upcoming AF1s should hit Nike.com as well as select retailers soon.
