In 1996 Nike created the Zoom Alpha running sneaker, serving as the very first Swoosh-engineered runner to come equipped with the brand’s proprietary Zoom Air technology. Over twenty years later the Zoom Alpha is making its first ever return to shelves at an opportune time, as today’s current sneaker consumer reveres just about any aesthetic born in that forgone era. Next week, the Alpha touches back down in an original Binary Blue and Carotene makeup that utilizes its retro-friendly layering to call upon an abundant presence of white to provide the design with both depth and a necessary amount of contrast. In an effort to further relay its retro message, it comes composed of textural synthetic mesh as well as a familiar looking midsole you have seen borrowed on the recently resurgent Spiridon as well. With pairs slated to arrive on Nike.com and at other NSW stockists on 2/28, enjoy a detailed look below and stay tuned for more from the Zoom Alpha.
