ACU Chooses The Li-Ning 50/50 For Their First Collaborative Sneaker_Sole Says It All

Founded in 2006 by a group of like-minded sneakerheads, Shanghai-based storefront ACU is soon to kick off their 15th anniversary. And to appropriately celebrate the occasion, the team has joined forces with the likes of Li-Ning, whose new 50/50 skate shoe serves as the foundation for the partnership.

Much like their namesake, the boutique’s first collaborative sneaker draws inspiration from traditional Chinese practices. Herbal medicine, specifically, informs much of the design, with the exterior layer mirroring that of the herbs’ packaging. This will gradually wear away with time, revealing a larger Li-Ning logo underneath. Adjacent, both the midsole as well as the red and green accents add further dimension, taking cues from the idea of “roots” and the aforementioned paper’s typical stamps.

Packaged within a special wooden box, the collaboration is currently scheduled to release on January 8th, 2022, via a raffle held through Wechat.
